It’s rather amazing how many Americans freak out about Marxists, and spend huge amounts of time thinking about Marxist plans for a revolution. What they don’t realize is that the revolution began in 1969, is still ongoing, and that it wasn’t the Marxists, or any of the other ‘ists’ who started it, and it won’t be any of them who wins it.

Oh the Horror
Fired off another horror story to the editor last night. I’m rather happy with this one. It’s a historical horror story, and has some interesting background pieces, being set near where I live in Northern Ontario. I know the area well, and I know the local people and cultures.
It was a lot of fun to write.

Microsoft Death Watch – Office for Linux Rumour Debunked?
Steven J. Vaughan Nichols (SJVN) has debunked the Office for Linux rumor. He is one of the better reporters covering Linux, with a solid technical background that most just don’t have. What he doesn’t have is an understanding of the numbers, and I think he’s missing a couple of salient points.

Enemies of the Internet
21 Vintage Gun Ads
I guess I’m a dinosaur. Someone forwarded me this, expecting me to get upset. Hey, I grew up on these gun ads! To me, they are normal.
Which doesn’t mean I don’t think that gun control is a good idea. I think that properly licensing snowmobile drivers is a good idea too.

Gene Quinn’s Experience with Plagiarism
Gene Quinn has a problem. He’s found out that while the Internet is a great way to get your ideas to a wider audience, it’s also a great way to meet jerks.
What Scares the Boogey Man – Released in E-Book
What Scares the Boogey Man has now been released in E-Book format on both the Amazon Kindle and Barnes and Noble Nook stores.
The Trade Paperback edition will be available within another week or so. Producing a print book as compared to an E-Book is a lot more work. It involves a lot of formatting that an e-Reader will do automatically for you.
Since this is the first time I’ve sold something, needless to say, I’ll be framing a copy!
Yes, I’m excited. Appearing in the same book along with Janet Morris, someone who I’ve admired for ages? Wow. Never mind all the other writers, all of whom I meet online during the writing of the book.
Really nice people. Really scary thoughts 🙂
