Writing Inspiration

Hardy Boys Boat
Hardy Boys Boat

Was in Haileybury yesterday, and had my camera with me. The boat above is supposed to have been the boat owned by Leslie McFarlane, who wrote the early Hardy Boys novels. He spent a good part of his youth living near my home, and one of his early jobs was reporter on the local newspaper, theΒ Cobalt Daily Nugget for the princely sum of $8.00 per week.

The point? Anyone can be a writer. Even someone from a small town in the far north.

Yes, the books do sayΒ Franklin W. Dixon on the spine. Franklin W. Dixon was a collective pseudonym used by a group of writers hired to write the Hardy Boys series.

Leslie McFarlane is a local hero.
